It’s officially daylight savings starting this weekend and like many, I was dreading it. Springing forward seems to always affect me negatively; I’m sluggish, tired, cranky and not a great person to be around for a few days until I acclimate to this new way of living. For some reason, falling back an hour never really does anything to me. Regardless, the anxiousness of the time change is palpable as the time change weekend draws near
This year is different
As I write this, Sunday evening around 5:26pm and I gotta admit, it’s really nice to have the sun fairly high in the sky. I Have plans later to take a walk with my wife when she gets home and wouldn’t be able to do that if we were on standard time. I mean technically, we could but I’d probably bail if it’s dark. I know it’s not much and as Spring progresses into Summer, we will all have plenty of sunlight but I choose to find the benefits instead of complaining. The latter hasn’t suited me very well so I’m trying something new.
Wait till tomorrow morning…
I am aware that tomorrow morning when I wake, it will be dark and I will not be happy. Truthfully, I’m not usually happy any kind of morning. It usually takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to wake up completely so by then, the sun will be up. I will, however, be very happy with all the daylight once I get home from work.
